International Yoga Day was celebrated on 23rd June 2023 with great fervour and enthusiasm at St. Xavier’s School, Tangrain. Despite the virtual setting, students from classes 1 to 8 actively participated in the online assembly and celebration. The theme for this year’s Yoga Day was ‘Yoga for Well-Being’, emphasizing how the practice of yoga contributes to holistic health.

During the event, students learned about the myriad benefits of yoga, which combines physical and mental disciplines. Yoga helps manage stress, anxiety, and promotes relaxation. It also enhances flexibility, muscle strength, and overall vitality. Asanas were demonstrated, and students enthusiastically practiced  Surya Namaskar.

Although this celebration was novel due to its virtual nature, the excitement among students was palpable. They creatively selected ‘International Day of Yoga’ as their screen background, showcasing their commitment to well-being. The session concluded with a 2-minute meditation, leaving everyone relaxed and filled with positive energy.

The event was a resounding success, with active participation from students, teachers, and the principal. Yoga truly brings peace to both body and mind, and this celebration exemplified its significance in our lives
